First Presbyterian Church is a thriving and diverse congregation located near the heart of Elkhart. Although we worship in two different styles, in three different spaces, and at four different times, yet we are united in our commitment to knowing Christ, growing in Christ, and sharing Christ's love.
We offer two lively traditional worship services: 8:30 a.m. in the chapel and 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Under Celia Weiss, we have an outstanding music program, including children's and youth choirs. For further information about these services, see our Chapel & Sanctuary page.
At 9:15 and 11:00 a.m. we offer two informal "emergent" worship services called The Bridge, on our lower level. Sing to the Bridge band and participate in this relaxed and multi-sensory worship. It is not slick "praise and worship," but something quite different. Check out The Bridge page, but it cannot capture the Bridge experience.
We offer a variety of activities in addition to worship: an outstanding choir program, including three choirs for children and youth; Sunday School for adults, youth, and children; an active youth group (PYF-Presbyterian Youth Fellowship), strong ties to Beardsley School; support of and involvement in a number of local mission activities, including Church Community Services, Susanna's Kitchen, Faith Mission, Salvation Army, and others; and fun and fellowship. We focus on the love and joy of Christ, and we invite you to experience that love and joy with us.We invite you to peruse these webpages. But even more, we invite you to experience the lively and loving faith of the people of this congregation. If you would like further infrmation, don't hesitate to call or email.
