Make Memories with Us this Christmas!

Christmas memories are made as we share special times with the people we love.  At First Presbyterian Church we invite you be part of our church family in this special season.  Share the love and laughter.  Make new friends.  Make memories with us as we travel to Bethlehem together and see what God has done to come very close to us and to make us part of his family.

A Dicken’s Christmas begins Dec. 10 (Advent messages)

Do you remember the story of Scrooge?  Charles Dickens published his little book, A Christmas Carol in December of 1843.    It was sold out by Christmas Eve!  We think this story is worth revisiting.  For the second and third Sundays of Advent, Pastor Sally has invited special guests (ghosts!)to make appearances with her message.  Don’t worry, they aren’t coming to scare us.  They want to inspire us to be God’s people.  For the fourth Sunday of Advent, look for a special guest.  Scrooge himself will join us!

Christmas Eve

Nothing is quite like Christmas Eve.  Join us for worship on this Holy Night for either of two special services.  Or come to both!  Everyone is welcome on this night of wonders

6:00 PM Family Service

The family service meets in the lower level in our charming Worship coffee house.  Families and friends sit around tables and enjoy a cup of coffee or cocoa as we celebrate Christ’ birth with our great Worship Band.  We will hear the story of Christ’ birth anew, sing the carols and songs of the season, hear a special Christmas message and give thanks with Christmas Communion and candle lighting during the singing of Silent Night. Welcome Jesus this Christmas with joy!

9:00 PM Traditional Service

The 9:00 PM service has an almost mystical quality about it as we welcome the Christ child in our beautiful sanctuary.  Our classic Christmas Eve service is set with traditional carols, the scripture readings that tell of the birth of the Christ child, a special Christmas Eve message, Christmas Communion and candle lighting during the singing of Silent Night.  Come welcome the Lord in beauty and in peace on Christmas Eve with us.

Christmas cheer at 9:00 and 11:00 each week

We offer worship in two styles in two different settings each Sunday.  Our Traditional service (9:00 AM) is classic with hymns, a wonderful pipe organ and fabulous choir!  Our Contemporary service (11:00 AM) has a great worship band, multimedia presentation, and special opportunities for children all in a café setting. Our two worship services have a special joy during the Advent and Christmas seasons.  We like to deck our halls!  Look for an enormous Christmas tree decked with white lights and chrismons at the entrance of the Sanctuary and greens surrounding the worship space.  Likewise the Worship Cafe on the lower level is decorated with trees, greens and festive touches.  Sweet, familiar songs and carols are sung at both services and the Advent Candles remind us we are getting closer to Christmas each week.

Join us for worship each Sunday of Advent:

9:00 AM Traditional Worship

11:00 AM Contemporary Coffee House Worship
