From the Pastor's Pen

Pastor Sally’s Devotional 4/27

| April 27, 2020

Dear friends,

I have a lovely hymn running through my head tonight.  I’m sure you’ll know it.  Here’s the chorus:

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The lord god made them all.

I start hearing this chorus in my head every time I look at the little sprouts I have pictured at the opening of this devotion.  I call them my “baby broccoli.  I planted the seeds only a few days ago and they have already popped out of the earth in my little plastic tubs. My kitchen window sill is lined with several such tubs.  I’m sure they will be quite ready to plant in the soil in a couple of weeks when I’m sure the last frost is past.

Gardening gives me great joy, especially when I’m growing things from seed.  It reminds me that God’s creative work is never done.  God continues to give life and bring life into being.  We count on this gift of life in these days.

Warmly,

Pr. Sally

“Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Hosea 6:3
