Dear friends,
I have another prayer from the Celtic Daily prayer services to share with you today.
Christ, as a light
illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield
overshadow me.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
I like this prayer because every day I need Christ all around me to be my light and my guide. Every day I need Christ’s protection, humility and power. Every day I need Christ to watch my words and I need Christ to guard the words other speak to me because I have a tender heart as I’m sure all of you have as well.
I share this prayer and pray it for you and for me this evening.
