Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions: about Worship

Thinking about joining us for worship? Great! Here are some answers to some questions you might have.

Where is the church?

First Presbyterian is located in downtown Elkhart Indiana at

200 East Beardsley Avenue, Elkhart IN 46514

Where do I park?

We have parking spaces literally all around the church with major lots on the East side and in the back of the church.  (Northside)

If you are coming to the Traditional service, it’s probably easiest to park on the West side and enter under the Portico.

If you are coming to Journey Cafe Worship, it’s easiest to park in the East parking lot and come in the handicapped accessible entrance. (Follow the signs!) Enter at the entrance under the awning.  Come down the grand staircase and you've arrived!

When Are Services?

First Presbyterian Elkhart

Traditional Worship Service

Meets at 9:00 AM in our beautiful sanctuary.  The service is classic in style and you’ll hear a mix of classical and jazz music performed by our talented Music Director and a variety of wonderful singers in the congregation.  There are bulletins available to help you navigate the service and hymnals for singing.

Everyone is welcome!  There is a staffed nursery for both worship services.

Journey Cafe Worship

meets at 11:00 in our newly renovated worship cafe.  We call it the Journey Cafe.    Worshippers sit at tables and enjoy coffee, juice, and other snacks during worship.  Our terrific worship band leads the contemporary music.  Visuals on the big screen give you everything you need to enjoy this Contemporary Worship experience.  There are special provisions for children during Journey Worship including a children’s lesson (Kid's Chat) and a Childen's Corner stocked with children’s activities to explore and enjoy during the pastor’s message.  This could be the new place you've been looking for!

What should I wear?

At First Presbyterian, we are more interested in you than in what you are wearing.  Please wear whatever clothes you are comfortable in. We have people in our church who wear anything from jeans and a T-shirt to a full suit. Seriously... come as you are.

What About My Kids

We love children at First Presbyterian. We have a staffed nursery that is available throughout Sunday morning. The Journey Cafe Worship in particular offers special opportunities for children. There is a children's message and an activities corner staffed by our Children's and Youth Ministry Coordinator.
